Trunk Show Treasures # 7...

Just over a week ago we were scurrying around and setting up our annual Halloween Trunk Show display! JP and I awoke early, packed the final show contents into the trailer and headed over to Leo's Garage, bright and early. Nerves are always a bit heightened as set up time tends flies by. I had a medley of items to display, props to put together and a space to decorate. We always rush around like crazed kids on too much caffeine, and we're always a bit out of practice it seems! This year, Sam our show's promoter put an alarming, yet comical twist on the events by locking herself out of the garage. All of her stuff including hot coffee and keys were on the other side of the glass within the garage. Talk about a tease! JP and I were first to arrive on the frenzied seen. We calmly accepted the reality of the news, tried to contact Leo with no luck and in the meantime attempted to break in! Fortunately, no glass was broken, nor door kicked in, but between the three of us, we cleverly found our way in after about 45 minutes of trial and error! Then, it was a race to unload and set up! It makes for a funny story and a good laugh :) Of course, the adrenalin set in, and we were able to finish what we started right before noon! As usual, with only moments to spare, we snapped as many photos of the booth and vendors before the shoppers sped in to see this year's delights. Here's a peek at last Saturday's Trunk Show. ENJOY, and many thanks to ALL of my dear collector friends who saved the date and spent some time with us.....



*That's me peering through a collection of this year's Halloween reproductions including candlestick spiders & Halloween candy box characters...



*At center, an old plant stand holds my hatty Halloween heads amidst other collectible delights for the spooking season...



* The trusty corner cupboard came out again to house and display a portion of this year's one of a kind Halloween originals...



* More of my licensed designs greeted shoppers as they entered my space at the back of Leo's garage, which was spotless by the way! And, that yellow, black and red Pennzoil sign seemed to fit right in with our harvest-time color palette...



* The framework from an old lampshade was the perfect spot for my charming necklaces to hang around....



* One of my limited edition Bethany Lowe Designs cat on hat sits with a friendly owl under a candy corn adorned feather tree...



* JP smiles wide after everything was in place!...



* Look at the clean sheen on that garage floor! Wow, spotless! And off in the distance you can see my orange and black festooned all about...



*2 minutes before the garage door opened I snapped a quick pic of my collector friends anxiously awaiting at the door! Look at those happy & silly expressions :)



* Erica MeNeish gets ready for the hungry lunch rush! Brauts and kraut and homemade potato cheese soup were on the menu..... 



*Another peek from the front door reveals several stalls of artisan vendors with their unique Halloween wares...



* The clock struck noon, and excited shoppers marched on in....



* Cordial collectors reach for their favorite one of a kinds as well as signed reproductions....



* Next to me was Mandy Yocum of Clever along with her husband Scott Hildebrandt, aka Mister Christmas. They were a hoot and quite the creative couple...



* A closer peek reveals Mandy's vintage style woolen headband rosettes and other fashion adornments. I acquired a black hair fancy that I wore to the following weekend's Ghoultide Gathering...



* Adjacent to us was the creative Kara Rosenberry with her handmade wares...



* Kara's sweet note cards and vintage wreaths added color and fun to an old cart...

 

* Across the way was a collection of aromatic candles from Kim Sorden of Magic Fairy Candles... Kim was surprised to meet me as she has been carrying my reproductions in her her Longmont, CO shop!



* Mysti Gulsrud of Delphinium Design had a colorful display of Day of the Dead jewels to wear...



* An old silver dish holds a variety of Mysti's sweet necklaces...



* Flowery pins for the hair and lapel, pendants and charms were included in Delphinium Design's offerings...



* And the sweet smell of pumpkin whoopie pies from Erica MeNeish wafted in the air!



* Donning vintage style orange and black, Sam Robinson was happy to be all ready and set for the doors to open at noon....



* Fun owls in various mediums and styles adorned her tabletop...



* A vintage cart in my favorite hues housed a collection of black cats and other trick-or-treat delights...



* Pumpkins anyone?...



* A medley of Halloween novelties filled baskets and shelves in Sam's space....



* Sam always brings a fun blend of goodies for the whole family to enjoy...



* And next to Sam was the talented Cindy Habermann with her folk art characters...



* Old crates and wooden treasure boxes served as pedestals for Cindy's papier mache creations...



* Sweet felted Halloween folk gathered together on Heide Murray's table of goodies...



* Heide brought along fanciful headdresses, bands and feathered crowns....



* Coming across Heide's delights is like digging in an old attic, and finding hidden treasures...



* Across the way, Erica welcomed guests to enjoy snickerdoodles and yummy chocolate upside down cupcakes...



* And, I struck one last Halloween pose before the event commenced! This year it was all about the lace!...

Giddy for Ghoultide....

Hello Friends! As you may imagine, I am giddy for the Ghoultide Gathering! It's astounding to believe that all the festivities will start this Friday evening! It will be such a pleasure to regroup with my fellow Halloween artist friends and also unite with so many cherished collectors. Today, amongst a myriad of little to-do's, I am adding the final touches to one last perched owl statement piece. Once I finish and pack him away, I can take a wee little sigh of relief, and then cross my fingers for a great show to come. I know many of you would like to peek in and see what I have been creating for this fantastical event, so I am sharing just a glance at only some of the fun, one of a kind characters that I am carting with me. As you may know, each piece is very special, created from scratch and a collectible treasure. I look forward to your response as you meet and greet this unique menagerie of mine. * A pair of spellbinding witches in soft vintage green hues will be awaiting! Check out those batty spectacles!



* A mini bat bust with a splash of purple and orange screeches for Halloween!

Trunk Show Sneak Peek...

Hey Halloween fans! A few of you have asked for sneak peeks from my collection of originals. You know me ~ I don't like to reveal too much, but here are a few teaser images of just some of my one of a kinds that I will be offering at this Saturday's Trunk Show! I hope this will tie you over for now.... hehe!
