A Frenzy to Finish....

The clock is ticking and time is running out! This has been the reoccurring theme for me all year... ack! As August comes to a close, I have mixed emotions for September's approach. On one hand, I LOVE autumn and the opportunity to see fellow Halloween artists and enthusiasts at the 2 shows I will be exhibiting at. But, on the other hand, I have 2 shows to get ready for!! And, well I'm not ready yet!

So, I'm in a frenzy to finish my work.... I spent several weeks sculpting, and last weekend I carried everything outside for a full day of sanding. JP took a few pics of me busy at work. You can tell I didn't spend much time polishing myself up as my pieces were the focus. Anyway, this week, and next week, and the week after, I will be painting. But, despite the work-out (as sanding IS a work-out) I really enjoyed being outdoors! Back to work I go....

* There I am, sanding away as I like my pieces to be smooth to the touch....

* Oh my, I'm thinking... I'm not done yet!...

* Gotta love those thin 3M sanding sponges....Those come in handy!

* A mourning dove watches me from a distance, shaking and sanding away...

Johanna, I'm right there with you - waaaaaaay too much work to finish in just a few short weeks! If it's any consolation, you're much further along than I am, lol....

Happy sanding and painting!

Go Johanna Go! Are you sanding your fingers to the bone? Whew, that's one big table full of whimsical possibilities. Can't wait to see them at the show. Why are you reading this?? Get back to work!

Wow! Look at all that greatness!
It's really cool to see in-progress photos. I'm also thrilled to see some owls on the table! (I have a thing for owls!) I've been trying to get one at Halloween and Vine the past few years, but I never seem to make it in time. Your beautiful art sells out so quick! Maybe this year ;) See ya there!
cheers,

Heya Girlfriend,

I love the shots of you working outside in your beautiful yard. Enjoy those times while you can, it seems as if the summer has flown by all to quickly. I can't wait to see your full collection at H&V!

It was a nice surprise to find your cat's meow project featured in BH&G's Tricks and Treats! I can't keep up with all of your pubs! You even gave BH&G the file so people could print it off their website, cool! You know that Madison and Ray will want to use it for a project :~). Scott's feature is amazing too, wow!

Take care, I look forward to seeing you soon!

xoxo Kitty

I'm amazed at the work on this table but just as amazed at the lush greens behind you!

What a delightful place to do something as tedious as sanding !!!
