I know it's been a little while since I posted, and I can explain :) I have been super busy sculpting and painting a new collection of one of a kind spring originals for the 4th Annual Spring Fling Show here in Denver, and it's next weekend! It completely snuck up on me (as usual)! So, I need to get back at it, but just wanted to check in.... For those of you locals wanting a dose of spring fun, please stop by to say hi and see my latest designs. I will be debuting my new spring collection that I created for Bethany Lowe along with a fun beach-themed series of pieces that I designed for Primitives by Kathy. Of course, I'll have a cheerful variety of illustrated notepads in case you're running low, in need of fun little gifts or are just ready to add some whimsy to your list-writing practice!! I hope to see you soon! It will be a treat!
And to all of my online collector friends who cannot make this Colorado event, please check my website over the next couple of weeks for at least one or perhaps more new Collector's Catch pieces. And if all goes well, I may host a Spring Web Sale this month
as well. So stay tuned! Back at it....

* That's me sketching ideas for patterns on candy containers and cups.....
* A bird in the works!.... Don't worry, I won't forget to paint in the eyes :)
* Paint paint paint is all I have been doing for days!.... I wish I were faster, but then I'd neglect the details that I enjoy adding to each original piece....

I love your style Johanna! And your new spring pieces are so sweet! Wish I could come see you there! Please take pics when you get there to share with those of us that can't go.
And isn't painting them the most fun part of all? It's like decorating a cake! =o)

I know... I wish you both could come to the show! It would be so fun to meet you :) And YES, painting is like the icing on the cake. It certainly brings each character to life!

You are so creative, Johanna! Love the fresh spring colors and designs. :)
I love watching works in progress and especially showing the artist working.
more pics please!
Oh how wonderful, I spy a sweet little pooch over there! Pam
Oh my, i absolutely LOOOOOVE your work!!! I really do. As i tell my husband, there are certain artists who create items that have that "squeal" factor...and you definitely have it :). It's so fun to see you working. I enjoy seeing fellow artists busy in their creative spaces. I anxious to see your finished pieces.
Kindest wishes,
Carrie the SnipPet Girl

Wish the show was closer - seems like there are never any good shows out here in Southern California :( I hope it goes well for you!

Hi Johanna, your blog is beautiful like your beautiful art work & you.
Glad you had a chance to stop by & say hello... AND that you had a romantic Valentine's Day with yummy Chocolate Fondue & your Honey. Jack is adorable with the red heart. :)
I wish I could clone myself to be able to finish everything I need to do too.
I love all the whimsical goodies you're working on... Have fun at the show!
Hugs With Bright Blessings & Love,
Lyndy
P.S. I've added myself as your follower, please join my new follower list too. It's right under my Feedjit.
Gorgeous colors Johanna! I love your style and technique. Good luck at the show, but I'm sure you will be a smash hit. I wish I could be there as well.
Oh, and is that a plastic lid I see you using for a pallette? lol.... I do that all the time. Helps wittle down my collection of lids.
:-)
Sheryl
Thanks again for all the sweet well-wishes and compliments!..... I hope my collectors here in Colorado are as excited over these pieces as you all are..... And yes, those are old plastic lids that I'm using for my paint palettes... Not the prettiest, but hey, they work & I'm recycling!
